I'm a passionate and enthousiastic researcher with the goal to improve quality of life in people with gait impairments. For this purpose I use state-of-the-art measurement techniques, such as 3D gait analysis, and predictive simulations.

My work primarily focuses on optimizing the properties of ankle foot orthoses, especially in people with calf muscle weakness, and bringing this knowledge toward clincial practice. However, I'm currently expanding my research area towards the motor control underlying the use of orthoses and more fundamental research using predictive simulations.

Besides research I'm also a lab technician within the gait laboratory of the Amsterdam UMC, where I'm performing and analyzing gait within clinical care.
